A Solvable Problem
In rural areas of Nigeria, they are plagued with limited access to quality healthcare. Many preventative issues are forcing Nigerians to experience harsh declines in health. We aim to eliminate these issues with a bold health project. Read through some of the common health challenges we aim to eliminate.
Common infectious diseases that have the highest mortality rates are influenza, pneumonia, diarrhea, tuberculosis, and malaria. These are all preventable and treatable.
Nigeria accounts for 40% of global non communicable diseases due to poor healthcare infrastructure and healthcare education.
Lack of Access
Lack of access to proper medical facilities has caused a drastic decline in the health of low income and rural area citizens. The issue is further magnified due to lack of access to equipment by medical professionals.
Lack of Doctors
Due to a lack of proper healthcare facilities, well trained medical professionals are leaving the country at rapid rates. WHO suggests Nigeria should have a minimum of 237,000 doctors but they currently have 35,000.
Our Proposed Solution
Ezuruezu Ekwerazu is committed to building and maintaining a hospital in the town of Ekwerazu that will serve the people of the area 24/7. This hospital will work to dramatically reduce the presence of infectious diseases, non communicable diseases, lack of healthcare access, and lack of healthcare professionals in this rural township. Through public donations and partnerships with US based medical institutions this project will become a beacon of hope to all those in the area.
Improved Healthcare Access
By building a hospital central to the citizens of Ekwerazu, we are able to immediately give healthcare access due to proximity. Locals can now access high level healthcare treatments at an ultra-modern hospital within a reasonable distance to their homes. Currently 2 acres of land has been purchased and is being prepped for construction of the hospital site. Additionally, the architectural designs have been drawn, submitted, and approved by local officials for the construction of the hospital. Ultra Modern Facility
The hospital will be constructed as an ultra-modern facility. This entails utilizing the highest standards of building equipment and materials available, implementing sustainable solutions to help reduce the reliance on outside factors and increase the independence and functionality of the hospital, securing high level hospital equipment, and establishing processes that are consistent with international standards, practices, and policies.
Quality Healthcare Professionals

Preventative Healthcare Education
Offering healthcare access goes beyond the treatments for those with issues and illnesses. It also includes empowering the population with the knowledge needed to prevent certain diseases such as influenza and malaria to reduce the common mortality rate experienced by the locals. This will reduce the cost of operations for the hospital and the potential stresses that healthcare workers may face. Education is a major pillar in the mission of this organization for it is a tool that will not only empower lives but save them too.
